Practice is the common denominator of whether a student grows, or becomes stagnant.  You can have the greatest teacher with many accolades, but if you do not practice, it will be as if they are teaching to the wind. There is not one teacher today that does not practice. Practice is one of the most important factors of learning. 

Music Theory is the fundamental elements that must be learned in order to create music. These include notes, scales, chords, rhythm, melody, and harmony. Music Theory can seem very intimidating. However, having a strong foundation in the elements above will allow you as the student to increase your ability as a piano musician.
